VI Card Game: How to Play & Basic Rules
Here I'll introduce how to play the VI Card Game and its basic rules.
1-on-1 Battle
・Both players start with 2000 Battle Points.
・Win conditions: Either "reduce your opponent's Battle Points to 0" or "destroy 3 of your opponent's Monster Cards (Battle Cards) through attacks from your Monster Cards (Battle Cards)."
・(Note: If you need to end the game early, determine the winner in this priority order: ①Player with more Battle Points wins ②If Battle Points are equal, the player who destroyed more cards wins ③If both are equal, the player whose cards currently on the Battle Spot have a higher total P+H value wins.)
Game Setup
①Each player prepares a deck of at least 40 cards.
(Note: If you don't have 40 cards, check the rule modifications at the bottom of this page)
②Show your opponent any "Forbidden Cards" or "Limited Cards" in your deck.
③Have your opponent shuffle your deck.
④Place your deck face-down on your right side.
⑤Draw 5 cards from the top of your deck.
⑥Play rock-paper-scissors; the winner starts the game.
⑦The player who won rock-paper-scissors rolls the dice.
⑧You can play cards equal to the number rolled on the dice (optional).
・You can place one Monster Card (cards with P and H values) on the Battle Spot per turn.
・Generally, you can have a maximum of 5 cards on the Battle Spot.
・Typically, you cannot attack on the same turn you play a card.
・You can attack on your next turn after playing a card. Basically, each card can attack only once per turn.
・When you have multiple cards on the field, each can attack once per turn, allowing multiple attacks. You can also attack your own cards.
・On the Set Spot, you can play one "Use Card" (marked with "使" in the top right) or "Quick Effect Card" (marked with "速" in the top right) per turn. These can be used immediately. You can place them face-down and use them at any timing, but generally only during your turn. "Quick Effect Cards" can be used during your opponent's turn.
・Generally, you can have a maximum of 5 cards on the Set Spot.
・If you have a Monster Card with "First Strike" on the Battle Spot, it can attack on the turn it's played. If your opponent has no cards on their Battle Spot, you can attack them directly, reducing their Battle Points.
⑨At the end of your turn, draw one card from your deck.
⑩The player who lost rock-paper-scissors then rolls the dice and follows the same process as described in point 8. At the end of their turn, they draw one card.
⑪On your turn, roll the dice, play cards, and attack aggressively when possible. Use Set Cards to gain advantage. Remember to draw a card at the end of your turn. Continue this battle cycle.
Note: Running out of cards in your deck does NOT result in a loss.
Attack Mechanics
・Monster Cards primarily have: ①P (Attack) ②H (Health) ③Effect
・When attacking, your card's P value attacks your opponent's card's H value.
Example: If your card (P:100) attacks an opponent's card (H:500), their card's H becomes 400. When H reaches 0, the card is sent to the "Graveyard."
Effects
・Generally, Monster Card effects activate immediately when placed on the Battle Spot.
・Effects typically activate only once when the card enters the Battle Spot.
・For cards that require Battle Points to activate effects, each effect can be used only once per turn. (If a card has 3 effects, each can be used once.)
Note: To use cards that require Battle Points or activate during your opponent's turn, follow this sequence:
①Opponent's turn begins ②Opponent rolls dice ③Opponent plays cards/attacks/activates effects/uses Set Cards ④After the opponent finishes their actions, your card effects can activate ⑤Opponent draws a card ⑥Your turn begins
Types
・Different types have compatibility relationships; attacks against compatible types deal double damage.
Example: A "Water" card (P:200) attacking a "Fire" card (H:500) deals double damage (400), reducing the "Fire" card's H to 100.
Set Cards
・Cards placed on the Set Spot are called "Set Cards," including: ①Use Cards and ②Quick Effect Cards.
・They can be placed face-down or immediately revealed and used.
・You can play one Set Card per turn, but if you already have multiple Set Cards, you can use any number in one turn.
・Set Card effects typically expire after one use and are sent to the "Graveyard."
・Some Use Cards are "Equipment" cards that attach to Monster Cards. Generally, equipment cannot be removed until the Monster Card is destroyed.
・Some Use Cards are "Land" cards that typically affect one Battle Spot. Depending on the effect, Land cards usually remain in effect throughout the battle until destroyed.
If You Don't Have 40+ Cards
If you don't have 40+ cards, you can still battle with what you have. With 20+ cards, start with 5 cards in hand. If you have fewer than 20 cards, try playing with just 1 card in hand.
